About

Hi! My name is Angela and I am your Afro Hair Coach.

I help you learn about your hair so that you gain confidence and build on your self esteem. I guide you from Struggle to Success.

No one knows more than I how damaging it can be to have no love for your hair. It effects every aspect of your life. You have a lack of control, an inability to feel confident, even a loss of identity.

In very bad cases, it can adversely affect your mental health as you turn your hatred inwards and start justifying the use of harmful chemicals.

We all have a hair horror story to tell. My HORROR STORIES pushed me to find solutions that I implemented to make a better hair experience for myself and my daughters.

However It wasn’t until someone asked me to explain how I styled other peoples’ hair without causing any pain – from wash to style session – that I really thought about my own story.

I thought about my childhood and why I wanted to share with others so that the pain of my childhood did not have to be repeated.

As a child growing up in the early 70’s I did not see any positive role models with my hair type in the media. (For clarity sake, lets describe it as 4C hair.) If you were a celebrity your hair was straight, and if you were a militant you had an Afro – can you see the negative associations here?

What I learned from my hair journey is the importance of having POSITIVE ROLE MODELS. The DESIRE to like ourselves is necessary to change the way we view our natural hair and that can only be done by creating more positive hair experiences.

The word is getting out more now, and I appreciate our trailblazer YouTuber’s for wearing their natural hair and influencing others to try.

But it is still a daunting task, and that is where I can help.

I will guide you through the process of Awareness, Acceptance, Hair Health and Techniques.

What’s good about that is you will have the reassurance of having an Afro Hair professional with you, helping to build your knowledge, confidence and self esteem.

And that’s what you want, isn’t it?
